A Different Approach to a Conference Keynote
We were invited by National Grid to deliver an interactive keynote for over 100 colleagues as part of their conference on managing change.
Rather than simply talking about change, we brought our coaching approach into the room, turning the keynote into an opportunity for people to reflect, participate and start working on their own response to change.
We integrated practical tools from our journals, including Can vs Can't Control, Event + Response = Outcome and acceptance, alongside personal stories, coaching questions and simple actions participants could take away.
To extend the session beyond the keynote, we also provided some Growth Planner journals and copies of Joe's book, giving colleagues practical resources they could continue using after the event.
The result was a keynote that felt less like a traditional corporate presentation and more like a shared coaching experience — practical, personal and designed to create action.
